Dave Adams old cortina race car is up forsale and i have just put a bid on it..
it runs a fogger nitrous system due to the poor flow of the redline inlets.
he did run a plate system at one stage but this caused many engine and tunning problems again due to the redline inlet.
it has run a 11.6 N/A with the 4.11 diff fitted but i think a different torque converter would have been used.. it also requires avgas or 110 ron race fuel which is getting very expensive and would now require a full roll cage if it ran another 10 second pass..
if i won the car i would make a few changes like fitting an aussiespeed inlet along with a quick fuel carb and maybe a slight de-comp to run pump fuel..
i still have a few of his old cams and parts here and he was doing some great mods to the x-flow motor like strokers and roller cams..
cheers

The last write up I saw about Dave Adams's engine(in performance build ups maybe?) it had motec injection with the nos foggers. Is this the same engine with a carb or is it completely a different engine?

i didnt win with a $8500 bid but this is his sons car from what i have been told.
i think the red cortina of Daves ran a stroker crank, EFI and a roller cam but im only guessing as some of the parts i have of his are an offset EF crank, roller lifters, roller cam etc..
im in Adelaide in May so i might catch up with his son if i get the chance.. cheers

hi PRO, howz things on the other side of the fence?. lol.. good to hear from you.. i have sent a message to Daves son and i hope to meet him in May and work on a price for his yellow cortina but i have had no reply..
i have his number here somewhere so i might just try the old phone..
let cyco_250 know he might get an 11 second pass if he uses a standard inlet manifold, as anything would be better than what he's using now...lol... cheers
